The J5-0.8NK inductive proximity sensor consists of an oscillator consisting of an inductor coil, capacitor, and transistor, which generates an alternating magnetic field. When a metal object approaches this magnetic field, eddy currents are generated inside the metal object, causing the oscillation to stop. This change is amplified by the back pole and converted into a transistor switch signal output.
